CHRIST the FORGIVING ONE: “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you” (Mt 9:2). What is the payment made so that God can forgive us? “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Col 1:14). To whom should this forgiveness be preached? “…Repentance and remission [forgiveness] of sins should be preached in His name to ALL nations” (Lk 24:47). How many of our trespasses are forgiven in this way? “And you…He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you ALL trespasses” (Col 2:13). What should be the result of such forgiveness in our own lives? “And whenever you stand praying, if you have ANYTHING against ANYONE, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses” (Mk 11:25). And what is the condition by which anyone may receive this forgiveness? “To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, WHOEVER believes in Him will receive remission [forgiveness] of sins” (Acts 10:43).
