CHRIST the CONNECTOR: “For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God…Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?” (2 Cor 13:4-5). Through Christ, we have been brought into at least seven wonderful relationships with the Lord our God. Thankfully they cannot be sinned away, but the enjoyment of these amazing roles depends simply on our obedience and faith. Here they are: As to shared life with the Divine, you are a child of God (1 Jn 3:1); as to spiritual responsibility in the Family Business, you are a son of God (Rom 8:14); as to governmental responsibility and privilege, you are a king (Rev 1:6); as to access and representation, you are a royal and holy priest (1 Pet 2:5, 9); as to future blessing, you are an heir of God and joint heir with Christ (Rom 8:17); as to consecrated living, you are a saint (1 Cor 1:2); and as to honored nearness and fellowship, you are considered a brother by the Lord Jesus Himself (Jn 20:17).
