CHRIST in the KNOW: “His disciples said to Him, ‘See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God’” (Jn 16:29-30). What was it that He knew? ALL things! “He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man” (2:24-25). But in a more intimate way, He knows the ones who trust in Him—and they know Him! “I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own” (Jn 10:14). This knowledge shows His personal care, tailored to the needs of each one. But it also brings responsibility on our part: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Tim 2:19). Yes, He knows our works (Rev 2:2) and seeks behind them the only suitable motive of love to Someone so great who cares so personally for the least of us.
