“I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 1:4-8).
Yes, this is the Corinthian church Paul is praying for. There’s hope for us, believers! Notice the secret. He was thankful concerning them; it doesn’t say “of them,” although I imagine he was. He was thankful for 7 things: that God’s grace was given to them by Christ; that they were enriched in everything by Him; that the testimony of Christ was confirmed in them; that they came behind in no area of gifting; that they were anticipating the Lord’s return for them; that He would confirm them; and that He would declare them blameless. All God. All His gifts. All His grace. He’s got everything covered.
