I never thought I’d see the day. Newsweek announced, “The White House’s 2022 fiscal year budget replaced the word ‘mothers’ with ‘birthing people’ in a section about public health funding.” How’s that for devaluing one of life’s most precious ideas!

When Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson was asked to “provide a definition for the word ‘woman,’” Jackson responded that she was “not a biologist” and therefore couldn’t answer.

Almost 3,000 years ago, the Lord warned about the propagandizing of language. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness!” (Isa 5:20) How did this all start?

At the very dawn of human history, the evil mastermind behind the Cosmic Reset posed the bombshell question: “Has God indeed said…?” To doubt, distort, or deny God’s Word is at the heart of all our troubles.

Have I overstated the case? Notice just four statements from the Bible that, only a few generations ago, were thought to be sacrosanct. Today they are considered obsolete.

1. “God created man in His own image;…male and female He created them.” (Gen 1:27) We are not the random product of an evolutionary crap shoot. And only two genders came from God’s hand. Such views are now considered naive at best, more commonly as unloving, judgmental, and cruel. But has no one noticed that suicides are the second-leading cause of death among teens in the US? If we indoctrinate our youth to think they are biological accidents and life is therefore pointless, is there any good reason for them to stick around?

2. “The works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication…” (Gal 5:19) Those are God’s terms for unfaithfulness in marriage or sex outside of it. Such behavior is considered normative today, even though the Bible still says, “fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” (Heb 13:4)

3. “Do not kill the innocent.” (Ex 23:7) As Roe v. Wade again comes into the spotlight, the tally is unimaginable. We’re approaching 63.5 million abortions since its passage—85% of whom are for unmarried mothers. This is our holocaust.

4. “Put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” (Col 3:8) Movies have gone from silent to unspeakable in one generation. Anger is the lifeblood of social media. Civil society is a thing of the past.

The solution to the murder of truth? Washington’s already bloated bureaucracy just added the “Disinformation Governance Board.” There’s an idea! The government specializes in telling the truth, so this fits perfectly into their portfolio, right?

This week I looked up a Bible verse on my phone. Ezekiel 47:12 describes the wonderful world when Christ is finally King. Normally it reads, “Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.” But mine popped up, “Their fruit will serve as food and their leaves for [helping to support overall health and wellness.]”

Why the change? A footnote reads: “This scripture has been edited to comply with the FDA. Please contact the original Author of this statement for more clarification.”

Exactly! Let’s make serious personal contact with the Lord, the original Author. But it’s not more clarification we need. It’s more co-operation. As Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Lk 11:28)
