September 12 Petition Mission

“You have granted me life and favor, and Your care has preserved my spirit” (Job 10:12).

After all he had gone through, this is Job’s testimony. He could have added, “My body is ravaged, my family is decimated, my wealth has evaporated, and my friends criticize me, but “Your care has preserved my spirit.”

He might have used Paul’s words if he had known them: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body” (2 Cor 4:8-10, KJV). Or in the same passage, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (vv 16-17).

Christian, whatever else you’re going through, thank the Lord, He is preserving your spirit!
