WHAT the SON was “MADE” (ginomai) or BECAME through His CRUCIFIXION (Part 2): “We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death” (Heb 2:9). Not only so, but “being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became (ginomai) obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Php 2:8). Yes, and made a curse! “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’)” (Gal 3:13). And made sin? That too! “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21). And with what results? “He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him” (Heb 5:9). Not only so, now “Of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who is made to us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption” (1 Cor 1:30). Yes, “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament” (Heb 7:22).
