OUR LORD JESUS—THIS MAN: Everyone had an opinion about this Man. His townsfolk “were astonished and said, ‘Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?’” (Mt 13:54). The centurion said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” (Mk 15:39). “The Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, ‘This Man receives sinners and eats with them’” (Lk 15:2). “Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, ‘I find no fault in this Man’” (23:4). But the crowd cried out, ““Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas” (23:18). The officers sent to arrest Him said, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (Jn 7:46). And the man born blind opined, “If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing” (9:33). The repentant thief told his fellow malefactor, “This Man has done nothing wrong” (Lk 23:41). And the author of Hebrews wrote: “This Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Heb 10:12). But who is this Man to you?
