CHRIST our INTERCESSOR (Heb 7:25): To make intercession (en-toong-khan’-o) for someone is to first meet and converse, then to petition or plead on that person’s behalf. How encouraging is this! If we fail to pray for ourselves as we should, or fail to ask for what we desperately need, Someone Else is praying for us! Did you know that, if you are a child of God by faith in Christ, you’re on His prayer list? Remember Peter’s dangerous situation as Jesus went to the cross: the Enemy wanted to “sift” him to make him a chaff Christian, good for nothing. Peter had boasted he would never deny his Lord, but Jesus knew differently. So He told His well-meaning but weak disciple, “I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail” (Lk 22:32). Christ our intercessor is praying us home every step of the way. What a Savior! The Holy Spirit within the believer also helps us pray (Rom 8:26). He takes our feeble attempts and translates them into God-sized prayers that exactly match the will of God. Pray on, Christian!
