CHRIST the LIFE of LIFE: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God” (Gal 2:20). The promise of life, the only life worth having, is in Christ: “according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim 1:1). The provision of life is only found in Christ: “…that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (Jn 20:31) because it was “our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Tim 1:10). The principle on which life operates is Christ: “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Col 3:3-4; see Rom 8:10-11). And Christ is the pattern for life, so “with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death” (Php 1:20; see Rom 6:4).
