“With what shall I come before the Lord?…Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, ten thousand rivers of oil?…He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:6-8).
It isn’t our hands and what they provide that God wants, but our hearts. Speaking at Keswick in 1902, Handley Moule said: “Twenty years ago, it was said to me by a young Oriental student at Cambridge, just on the verge of stepping into the full light of God and joy in Christ, after long and cautious inquiries into Christianity, ‘I have been reading your sacred Book; and the difference between it and our sacred books in the East is not altogether in its precepts; for there are wonderful precepts…also in our books; but your Book, and yours alone, contains, I see, the secret of how they may be done.’”
What the Lord REQUIRES is exactly what TRANSPIRES in the life when we are yielded to the Spirit.
