CHRIST the WORD: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life” (1 Jn 1:1). According to its website, the Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. It contains 838 miles of shelving, holds more than 39 million books written in 460 different languages. And the collection keeps growing, adding approximately 12,000 items to the collections daily! Yet for all that, it is just the rearranging of the alphabet’s letters in an endless array. On the Library’s walls are the words, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding” (Prov 4:7). When God speaks of His Son as the Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, He is stating that Christ is all that God wants to tell us, for in Him “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:3). Oh, to know Him!
