JESUS is “THIS MAN.” The officers sent to arrest Jesus said, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (Jn 7:46). The crowd observed, “All the things that John spoke about this Man were true” (Jn 10:41). The Jews marvelled, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?” (Mt 13:54). In one of the strangest objections ever, the Pharisees and scribes complained, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them” (Lk 15:2). The man born blind declared, “If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing” (Jn 9:33). Pilate adjudged, “I find no fault in this Man” (Lk 23:4). The thief on the cross confessed, “This Man has done nothing wrong.” (Lk 23:41). The centurion declared, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” (Mk 15:39). Paul proclaimed, “Through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins” (Acts 13:38). The inspired author writes, “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Heb 10:12). What a Man!
