CHRIST the BELIEVER’S PROSPECT: “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 Jn 3:3). Evangelist T.D.W. Muir, in sharing this bright and certain hope, tied together the following verses. Our hope includes being “caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thess 4:17). Then, not seeing in a mirror, dimly, “we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 Jn 3:2). That is why “we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body” (Php 3:20-21). In that day, wonder of wonders, “When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Col 3:4), we “shall inherit all things” (Rev 21:7), and having “made us kings and priests to our God,” “we shall reign on the earth” (Rev 5:10). Enough, surely, to brighten an overcast day or a weary heart!
