CHRIST IS NOT FAR: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach)” (Rom 10:8), “so that they should seek the Lord,…and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27). T.D.W. Muir, as soon as he was saved, reached out to others. He began taking two young ladies to the gospel meetings held by evangelists Donald Munro and John Smith, where they too were saved. This aroused the antagonism of their father, a Mr. Sproul, and he forbade them to attend any more. But the next day Muir appeared at Sproul’s home, and led him to Christ through the words of John 3—which he himself had only recently believed! The next night, a happy Mr. Sproul, his wife, and two daughters showed up at the gospel meeting. To Muir’s added delight, Mrs. Sproul beamingly whispered in the young soul-winner’s ear, “God saved me last night while I sat listening at the keyhole as you spoke to Mr. Sproul!”
