CHRIST STRONGER than the STRONG MAN: “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils” (Lk 11:21-22). Is it true that one of the reasons the meek Carpenter from Nazareth came was “that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 Jn 3:8)? Did He submit Himself to be “crucified in weakness” (2 Cor 13:4) yet purpose “that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death” (Heb 2:14)? How could He do this? It is because “the weakness of God is stronger than men” (1 Cor 1:25) and “because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 Jn 4:4). We were all Satan’s good, but the Stronger than the strong man took us as the spoils of His battle at Calvary. Did He then chain us to His chariot wheels? No! He gave us back as gifts to the Church (see Eph 4:8)! What a Hero!
