June 11 Petition Mission

Restore us, O God; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!” (Ps 80:3).

Sanctification: the process by which weak, failing children of God are progressively conformed to be like the perfect Son of God. Henry Drummond writes: “Shall a mechanical experiment succeed infallibly and the one vital experiment of humanity remain a chance?…Where, then, shall one look for such a formula?”

Not surprisingly, the author then quotes 2 Corinthians 3:18, “We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” He states that “glory” is revealed character, and paraphrases: “We all reflecting as in a mirror the character of Christ are transformed into the same Image from…a poor character to a better one, until by slow degrees the Perfect Image is attained” (The Changed Life, pp 17-24).

Behold Christ’s glory, reflect His character, and you will daily become more like Him.
