CHRIST our PLACE PREPARER: “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (Jn 14:2-3). Archie Naismith tells the story of a faithful witness who was on a train journey from London to the north of England. He entered a carriage already occupied, and a man opposite, recognizing him, asked the following: “There was a man who was a good citizen, and brought up his family well. At 60, he developed cancer. A friend of the famous free thinker, Charles Bradlaugh, he used to defy God. To save trouble and expense, he committed suicide. Where did he go?” The minister of the gospel replied, “That is a simple question. He went to his own place. Everybody goes to his own place. But I have a Friend who has told me He has prepared a place for me. His place shall be mine. The Lord Jesus is arranging my future home.” That arrangement can be made for anyone by faith today.
