“He commands and raises the stormy wind…their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm…” (Ps 107:25-29).

“At wits’ end” is a common phrase, unknown by most to be from the Bible. You’ll find a score of such locations on Google Maps, but the real Wits’ End is a frightening place. Good thing the Lord is there!

Here’s an encouraging stanza from Antoinette Wilson’s poem, “Wits’ End Corner” (Trust Magazine, Oct 1912):
Are you standing at Wits’ End Corner, Christian, with troubled brow?
Are you thinking of what is before you, and all you are bearing now?
Does all the world seem against you, and you in the battle alone?
Remember—at Wits’ End Corner is just where God’s power is shown.

Notice that He both “commands” AND “calms” the storm. He is there for you!
