CHRIST the PREPARER of our PLACE: George Henderson points out that the Christian is bound to heaven by eight gold links. Our Father is there: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name” (Mt 6:9). Our Savior is there: “Christ has…entered…into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us” (Heb 9:24). Our home is there: “I go to prepare a place for you” (Jn 14:2). Our name is there: “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven” (Lk 10:20). Our life is there: “Seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God” (Col 3:1-2). Our heart is there: “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mt 6:20-21). Our inheritance is there: “An inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you” (1 Pet 1:3-5). Our citizenship is there: “Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Php 3:20).
