JESUS ONLY: “…they saw no one but Jesus only” (Mt 17:8). “The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him” (Jn 1:18). “He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords” (1 Tim 6:15). A man was driving through the town of Kilmacolm in Renfrewshire, Scotland when he stopped and asked a road repairman the way to Glasgow. After giving directions, the man asked the driver, “And do you know the way to heaven?’ “No, I can’t say I do.” “Jesus said, ‘I am the way,’” he simply replied. On his return to London, the driver was involved in a serious accident that, some days later, cost him his life. But ten days later, the man’s three sons appeared in Kilmacolm to seek out the repairman. Their father, before he died, asked his sons to return to the place where he heard the way to heaven to tell this faithful witness that, in the words of one of the sons, “he understood and is now in heaven.” God’s only Son is the only way.
