March 19 Petition Mission

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Pet 5:7).

Writes E.E. Wordsworth, “So far as is known, no bird ever tried to build more nests than its neighbor. No fox ever worried because he had only one hole in which to hide. No squirrel ever died of anxiety lest he should not lay enough in store for two winters instead of one. No dog ever lost a night’s sleep over the fact that he had not enough bones laid aside for his declining years, and no sheep committed suicide fearing all the grass in the pastures would be eaten up. The nightingale sings in the storm, the robin warbles that winter is past and springtime is on the way, the eagle soars above the clouds to the mountain crag and basks in the sunshine, and the humble sparrow day by day depends upon its Creator.”

Lord, help us today to remember your words: “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Mt 6:26).
