The MYSTERY of CHRIST’S GLORIFIED BODY: Christ’s earthly humiliation and eternal glories are mysteriously bound together (Phil 2:5-11; Rom 8:17). “The first man was of the earth, earthy; the second Man is the Lord from heaven…And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.…Behold, I tell you a MYSTERY: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality…then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’” (1 Cor 15:47-54). Our lowly bodies will then be “conformed to His glorious body” (Phil 3:21). Forever with Him, for Him, like Him. God could not think of a better thing to do for you than to make you like His Son. This is predestination (see Rom 8:29)!
